OGBIA CONSTITUENCY ONE (1) STAKE HOLDERS ‘ MEETING HELD IN THE OTUOKE TOWN HALL, OGBIA LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF BAYELSA STATE ON THURSDAY, 21st JANUARY, 2021 AT 12.00 NOON

At the instant of Hon. Mitema Obordor, FCIM, member representing Ogbia Constituency One in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, a meeting of critical stakeholders (including the Ebenema or representatives, Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairmen, Women and Youth Leaders) of all the Communities in Ogbia Constituency One, was held on Thursday 21st January, 2021 at Otuoke in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
The meeting was for the Honourable Member to present a briefing or report of his stewardship, as he continued to represent the Constituency in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.
The following were highlights of the meeting:
1. Hon Chief Mitema Obordor was commended for his qualitative representation in the House; and for funding and executing so many projects in all the Communities in the Constituency.
A unanimous ‘ Vote of Confidence ‘ was therefore passed, urging him to even do more.
2. A ‘Vote of Confidence ‘ was also passed on the Governor of Bayelsa State, HE. Sen. Douye Diri, and his deputy HE. Sen. Lawrence Ewhrujakpo, for the so many development strides already recorded by the administration.
The stakeholders humbly requested that the entire Ogbia Kingdom and Ogbia Constituency One in particular, be considered for continued enjoyment of the support, attention and benevolence of the Prosperity Government.
3. The matter of the Chairmanship of the Ogbia Brotherhood, long expected to be assumed by a representative of the Oloibiri Clan, was raised and noted for further and later discussion.
4. The matter of the election and filling the vacant stool of the Obanobhan of Oloibiri Clan was also raised.
Stakeholders were of the opinion that because the last occupant of the revered first-class-chieftancy stool, the Late HRM Maddocks Ogbogi, has already been buried, no further time should be wasted in filling the vacant position by the Clan.
In response, Stakeholders were informed that the modalities for a meeting to discuss replacement will shortly be made public.
